Having served as a navigation officer in the Royal Navy and completed an undergraduate degree in business and an MBA, Ed spent 4 years in a global American pharmaceutical company. The product development, sales and marketing equipped him well to start his first horticultural business in 2003. He has been building, leading and investing in plant companies and new genetics ever since.
Ed travels extensively around the world to see Customers, Suppliers, Breeders and to explore new opportunities. He is also a shareholder in Valin Genetics, Plants Genetics International and Whetman Plants International.
Kevin Hobbs
Product Development & Production Director
As a Plantsman, horticulturist, grower and author with over 35 years’ experience, Kevin Hobbs has one foot planted in the botanical world the other in commercial production.
Working with likeminded friends and colleagues globally he enjoys sharing knowledge and introducing new ornamental and edible plants to the market through his role at Pinnacle Plants International. A passionate advocate of all things green and growing with new, rare and unusual plants being shared and enjoyed to the benefit of all, from breeder to consumer.

Plant Breeding
Our sister company Valin Genetics is working on multi genus breeding projects, led by Charles Valin. A highly skilled breeder who applies his expertise, creativity and traditional methods to new, often unexplored combinations. Supported by specialised breeding software, laboratory research and botanical and taxonomic expertise Charles and colleagues deliver award winning varieties to the market.
Young Plant Supply
Supplying high quality young plants worldwide from our UK nursery, overseas tissue culture laboratories and international partners. Formats include Tissue Culture, Bare Root, Plugs & 9cm.

Innovation
As well as innovation from our inhouse and partner breeders we work in other areas of horticultural development. For example: rooting woody plants from cuttings that, traditionally, are considered very difficult or impossible by utilising new techniques and treatments. And, developing, utilising and promoting beneficial soil bacterium in pot and field grown plants to improve vigour, uniformity, resilience and saleability while minimising loses. Such endeavours are typically supported by academia and employ the skills of our qualified staff.
